Meet Karen England
Karen England is a Pastor’s daughter who grew up working for her extended family’s San Diego area garden center because her grandmother made her! It was a job she did not love until she married in 1989 and desperately needed to learn to cook and suddenly discovered a deep love of herbs, cooking, & gardening, as well as the family trade through, of all things, her mother’s spaghetti sauce recipe and her cousin’s herb plants for sale. Karen is a graduate of Biola University and also an alumnus of three very intensive trainings at the world famous Ballymaloe Cookery School in County Cork, Ireland.
Today, Karen is a popular garden speaker and teacher of cooking with herbs and edible flower classes in the San Diego area, specializing in the art of cooking with lavender, roses and scented geraniums. She is a member of the International Herb Association and is recognized as a the herb expert of the Vista Garden Club. When she is not trying a new herb recipe or cooking for the her extended family, Karen can be found reading on the porch or catching a flick from her favorite actress Sandra Bullock. Starting Edgehill Herb Farm from scratch she is eager to see what the new decade holds for the company.
